IND vs WI Live Score, 1st T20I: Naman Dhir set for T20I debut after ODI bow; gets maiden cap by Arshdeep Singh – The Tech Word News

India vs West Indies Live Score: India return to T20I action just three days after their golden triumph at the Asian Games, taking on the West Indies in the opening match of the five-match series at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on Tuesday.

Shreyas Iyer’s side enter the competition on the back of nine consecutive T20I wins, but a quick turnaround from Japan will test their recovery. The series also provides an opportunity for India to fine-tune the combinations and improve their fielding position after 14 errors in the Asian Games semi-finals and final.

Abhishek, Samson in the limelight

Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson are expected to open, with both looking for more consistency. Abhishek has had an explosive year but has also produced 17 scores under 20 in 29 T20I innings. Samson, meanwhile, has 11 single-digit scores in 20 innings.
Ishan Kishan offers another aggressive option and has already crossed 1000 T20I runs in 2026.

West Indies bring the firepower

West Indies have strengthened their squad with Shimron Hetmyer, Romario Shepherd, Rovman Powell and Akeal Hosein joining the T20 set-up. Kamil Pooran is expected to start with captain Shai Hope, while Hetmyer, Rutherford and Powell give the visitors plenty of strength in the middle order.

Spacing and conditions

The Ekana surface generally offered help to the bowlers, especially the pacers, although it leveled off during the second half of IPL 2026. Rain is expected throughout the day, but conditions are expected to clear during match hours. Any moisture could provide seamstresses with timely assistance.
