Bharatiya Janata Party MP Anurag Thakur took part in a public fish-eating demonstration during an election campaign in West Bengal on Tuesday (April 21, 2026). This comes as the saffron party tries to distance itself from the ‘vegetable only’ image in Bengal’s largely non-vegetarian food society.
Mr. Thakur was in Kolkata campaigning for candidates and was seen eating fish and meat along with party workers at a local hotel in the city.
