In a football match, the camera collapsed, the crew narrowly escaped a huge disaster
A cameraman narrowly escaped a huge disaster during a friendly match between Hungary and Kazakhstan after a spider-like camera suspended from wires above the stadium fell onto the pitch. The incident happened at the Nagyerdei Stadium in Hungary, where two teams that did not qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup met.
The camera fell just a few yards away from the cameraman on the sideline, forcing a brief stoppage of play. According to a BBC report, Hungarian media reported that the spider camera started smoking midway through the first half after a fire damaged one of the cables carrying it. The camera, which was suspended more than 20 meters above the ground, fell and landed just over the boundary line near the Hungarian warm-up area.
