CSIR to host RISE Conclave 2026 at Bengaluru, CFTRI to showcase incubated start-ups
The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) through its laboratories including CSIR-National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL), Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI) and Fourth Paradigm Institute (4PI) will organize Research, Industry, Start-up and Entrepreneurship (RISE) 2026 conclave in Bengaluru on 1113 and 1 June.
The two-day national conclave, to be held at the VM Ghatge Convention Centre, is themed ‘Innovation and Entrepreneurship Driven Growth for Viksit Bharat 2047’ and aims to bring together researchers, industry representatives, start-ups, academics, policy makers, investors and students to strengthen India’s innovation ecosystem.
Director Dr. Addressing a press conference at CSIR-CFTRI on Tuesday, Giridhar Parvatam said the conclave will be inaugurated by Union Minister of State (Independent Representative) for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences Dr. Jitendra Singh. CSIR Director General and DSIR Secretary Dr. will also attend the event. N. Kalaiselvi.
According to CSIR-CFTRI, the conclave is in line with the national vision of translating scientific research into commercially viable products, technologies and businesses through stronger collaboration between laboratories, universities, industries and start-ups.
More than 100 start-ups, MSMEs and technology exhibitors supported by organizations such as ISRO, Department of Science and Technology (DST), Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) are expected to showcase innovations and technologies with commercial potential.
The main highlight of the conclave will be the participation of 12 start-ups incubated at the CSIR-CFTRI incubation center in Mysuru. These businesses will exhibit products developed using CFTRI technologies, including protein bars, low-glycemic foods for diabetics and millet-based nutritional products. Several CFTRI technology licensees will also exhibit their products at the show.
According to the director, the conclave will feature thematic sessions on aerospace technology, science communication, artificial intelligence and ethics, agri-food innovation, entrepreneurship, venture capital, financing and industry-academia collaboration.
Experts from leading institutions and companies including Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bosch, IBM Quantum, NVIDIA, Tata Advanced Systems and NSRCEL are expected to participate in discussions and panel sessions.
Dr. Parvatam said the event aims to bridge the gap between laboratory research and market-ready solutions by promoting collaboration between scientists, entrepreneurs, investors and industry stakeholders.
Leading scientist prof. AA Inamdar said CSIR-CFTRI will sign four memorandums of understanding (MoUs) during the conclave, including agreements with leading IITs, IIMs and NABARD.
Another senior scientist, RS Matche, said the idea of RISE is to build a robust innovation ecosystem with the participation of more than 40 government institutions and research organizations.
Organizers expect the conclave to create new partnerships, technology transfer opportunities, investment linkages and initiatives to support start-ups, while inspiring students and young innovators to entrepreneurship.
Building on the success of previous editions held in Jammu, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Lucknow and Chennai, the sixth RISE Conclave is expected to further boost India’s innovation-driven growth and contribute to the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision, CSIR-CFTRI researchers said.
