The Hyderabad Disaster Response & Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) on Monday recovered a colonial park from encroachments at Narsingi village in Gandipet mandal of Ranga Reddy district.
In Arunodaya Housing Society, a HUDA layout, 6,078 square yards of land has been allotted for the colonial park. An area of 3,000 square yards was encroached upon, where structures were also raised. Of the remaining plot, 1,600 square yards were encroached upon by a local resident who built a pre-cast compound wall enclosing the plot and sheds within. Narsingi city officials had earlier taken action and removed the structures, but the person repeated the violation during the interregnum of transfer of city authorities to GHMC.
Local residents approached HYDRAA with a complaint about the violation, after which officials conducted an on-site inspection along with officials from the Revenue and Municipality. Officials confirmed that it was a plot of land allocated for a park, marked the boundaries and fenced off the plot, a statement from HYDRAA said.
