The Yadgir Municipal Council (CMC) has intensified its crackdown on illegal banners and flexi and warned that legal action will be taken against those erecting banners and flexi without permission.
At a meeting in Yadgir, Commissioner Umesh Chavan warned that legal action would be taken against individuals or organizations erecting banners and flex without permission within the CMC limits.
Any individual, organization or member of the general public should obtain permission before erecting banners and flex within the specified period. Responsible persons should remove such banners or flexes themselves after the end of the permitted period. The CMC has the power to book persons under the relevant law and punish them either with fine or imprisonment for six months or both, Mr. Chavan said.
The city commissioner said that illegal banners and benders are damaging the city’s glory, heritage and beauty. “It is the duty of every citizen to protect the beauty of the city,” he added.
CMC functionaries and others were present.
