The heavy rain, which plunged part of Telangana, including Hyderabad, caused the international airport to disrupt the international airport Gandhi (RGIA) on Wednesday.
The airport authorities confirmed that eight flights were canceled, while 11 diverted years that could not land because of bad weather landed later in Hyderabad in the evening.
The cancellation included four arrivals and four departures. The affected incoming flights were Indigo’s 6E 6728 from Ahmedabad, 6E 6487 from Chennai, 6e 6138 from Patna and Spicejet SG 742 from Kochi. The canceled flights that were canceled included Indigo’s 6E 6137 on Patna, 6E 6727 to Ahmedabad, 6E 6684 to Kochi and 6E 6486 to Chennai.
11 diverted flights were redirected to Vijayawada, Bengaluru and Tirupati Airport before it was cleaned to land in Hyderabad as soon as the weather conditions improved.
