
In September 2025, the Police in Hyderabad City Cyber Crime Police arrested 59 individuals from eight countries in the course of monthly online fraud operations, renewed and returned the victims a total of 86,64,827 GBP.
According to Cyber Crimes DCP Dara Kavit, 320 complaints were received over the month through the National Portal for Reporting Computer Crime, from which 222 FIRS at the Cyber Crime Police Station, Hyderabad City and 106 in Zonal Cerys were registered. “The individuals were associated with a number of cyber crimes, including investments, digital arrest, marriage, credit card, trading, work and social media,” the officer said.
The arrest was covered by several states across the country. Overall, the accused were found involved in 257 cases at a national level, of which 74 in Telangana. During the operations the wing took 43 mobile phones, 9 control books, 8 passbooks, 23 ATM or debit cards, 4 laptops, one stamp of the company and 21 SIM cards.
Of the collected funds, 58.47 595 GBPs were associated with investment fraud, followed by 12.43 GBP trading and 5,21 50 GBP trading in OTP fraud. Other compensation included 3.34 065 GBP in digital fraud, 2.58 635 GBP fraud in credit card fraud, 1.78 500 GBP fraud, £ 1,13,000 in compulsion, 50,000 GBP in APK fraud and 1,18,771 GBP.
Police Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police urged citizens to stay careful about online fraud, especially those that include false investment groups on social media platforms such as telegram, WhatsApp, X, Instagram and Facebook. People were recommended to use only seb-churned applications and consult registered financial advisors before making any investment.
The victims were encouraged to immediately report cyber fraud on the 1930 National National Line or through the CyberCrime.gov.in website, as early reports can increase the chances of raising lost money.
