‘He lived an unblemished life’: Former Pakistan PM Raja Pervez Ashraf says after drug queen Anmol calls him ‘Pinky’ | Today’s news

Former Pakistan Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Wednesday distanced himself from drug kingpin Anmol alias Pinky after she allegedly named him. Ashraf, who served as Pakistan’s 17th prime minister from June 2012 to March 2013, told the National Assembly on Wednesday that he had lived “without blemish”.

What Anmol ‘Pinky’ Said

The controversy erupted after a video surfaced online in which Pinky allegedly named him during a court hearing. In the video, Pinky is heard saying the name “Raja Pervez” before her voice becomes inaudible due to the noise around.

Later, another video also appeared on the Internet in which her lawyer told reporters that Pinky was pressured to take the names of some politicians. According to Dawn’s report, Pinky also claimed during her court appearance on Tuesday that she faced pressure “to take names.”

Who is Anmol ‘Pinky’

Anmol alias Pinky, who police say ran a sophisticated cocaine processing and supply operation across Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, was arrested by the Karachi police on May 12.

Investigators said Pinky took orders via WhatsApp and had drugs delivered to her customers’ doorsteps.

According to the Express Tribune, Pinky reportedly claimed that “nobody in Pakistan makes better cocaine” than her.

The police seized cocaine hydrochloride, ketamine hydrochloride, ephedrine hydrochloride, acetone and baking powder from her. The seized material included almost seven kilograms of raw chemicals and more than 1.5 kg of prepared cocaine.

Prepared for investigation: Ashraf

Reacting to the allegations, the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader linked his name to Pinky and said he was surprised.

“When I heard the name, I thought maybe it was another Raja Pervez Ashraf,” he said.

“Soon after the video, people started commenting on the incident on social media and making vlogs about it,” Ashraf said.

Ashraf expressed concern that Pinky had taken his name to divert attention and said he was ready for any investigation into the allegations.

“I have led an unblemished life. I have served as a former prime minister and a former speaker of the NA,” he said.

“This woman previously took the name of another personality and I believe it was done to divert attention, to divert attention, or to gain an advantage, or to divert the matter in another direction, or to create a dispute between people,” he added.
