As the delays and cancellations of H-1B visas continue, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said the government is concerned about these issues that have caused inconvenience to citizens, including disruption of education. The department is engaged in discussions with US officials in both New Delhi and Washington, DC to address these concerns.
“The Indian government has received numerous representations from Indian nationals who are facing delays and difficulties in scheduling or rescheduling US visa appointments. While visa matters fall within the sovereign domain of the issuing country, India has conveyed these concerns to the US authorities in New Delhi and Washington DC,” Jaiswal said at the weekly MEA press briefing.
“These delays have caused extensive hardship to affected individuals and their families, including disruption of education. The government continues to actively engage with the US side to resolve the issue and minimize the impact on Indian nationals,” he added.
