A confrontation over a traffic violation escalated into a violent clash in Gurugram’s Sector-31, which resulted in the total destruction of a Mercedes-Benz luxury sedan by security, NDTV reported.
While the video of the vehicle attack went viral across social media platforms, no formal police complaint was filed by either party.
The incident is said to have started when the driver of a Mercedes worth approx ₹50 lakh, was detained by security for driving on the wrong side of the road near Cyber Park. A heated argument ensued after officers attempted to stop the vehicle, according to the report.
The situation turned physical when the Mercedes driver allegedly assaulted the security personnel. In a swift and violent retaliation, the guards targeted the vehicle with sticks and batons.
Attack visuals
Video footage of the incident shows the security guard wresting a baton from a passerby before rushing towards a parked car. The video documents the guard systematically breaking the windshield, rear window, and side windows. At the same time, another person is seen aiming at the rear lights and mirrors of the vehicle.
Despite extensive damage to the car and the alleged initial assault on the driver, neither party filed criminal charges.
Another significant Mercedes incident
The Gurugram clash comes on the heels of another major Mercedes incident in the National Capital Region (NCR).
In early November, a speeding Mercedes G63 AMG lost control in South Delhi’s Vasant Kunj area.
This accident turned fatal when the SUV rammed into a car rack and hit three restaurant employees from Ambience Mall. One victim, identified as 23-year-old Rohit from Uttarakhand, was declared dead on arrival at the hospital, while two others sustained injuries.
The recurring nature of these incidents has sparked a renewed debate among NCR residents about road safety, the behavior of luxury vehicle owners and the proportionate response of private security enforcement.
