Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg said Israeli forces after deportation from Israel and landing in Paris on Tuesday 10th June landed in Paris.
“We were kidnapped in international waters,” Thunberg told reporters at Charles de Gaulle airport. But what we have gone is nothing compared to what people in Gaza last right now. ”
Thunberg, 22, was between 12 passengers aboard Madleen, a ship operated by the coalition of Freedom Flotilla, which aimed to provide assistance to Gaza and challenge the naval blockade of Israeli.
Israeli Navy captures “Madleen”
Israeli naval forces captured Madleen about 185–200 km from the Gaza coast early on Monday and accompanied them to the port of Ashdod and claimed that the event was legal under international maritime law.
“The fleet tried to break the statutory naval blockade,” Israeli Foreign Ministry said. “He was a political stuntman with modest humanitarian reserves.”
However, groups of law and organizers of the fleet killed the raid as illegal.
“This is a violation of international law,” said the Group of Legal Advocacy Adalah, which represents several detained activists. “Activists were unarmed and carried humanitarian aid.”
More activists detained, facing deportation
According to Israeli officials Thunberg and three others, including journalists, they accepted deportation and were departed from Israel through Ben Gurion Airport. “Greta Thunberg has just gone to Sweden for flight (through France),” the Foreign Ministry X, along with Thunberg’s photograph on the plane, said.
Eight other activists, including five French nationals, rejected the deportation and remained in custody.
“Those who refuse to sign deportation documents and leave Israel will be submitted before the judicial authority,” the ministry said.
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot confirmed that one of the French detainees agreed to the departure of Israel, while five others would be subject to legal proceedings.
“Our consul was able to see six French nationals arrested by the Israeli authorities,” he wrote at the X.
Accusations of piracy and international condemnation
The country, including Turkey and Iran, condemned Israeli actions.
Turkey called the raid by a “abominable attack”, while Iran condemned it as a “form of piracy”.
Spanish activist Sergio Toribio, who was also deported, told reporters in Barcelona: “It’s unforgivable. It’s a violation of our rights. It’s a pirate attack in international waters.”
Flotillla Freedom said that the ship is heading to the “territorial waters of the Palestine state” and that Israel had no legal power to intervene.
Installation of international pressure on Israel
Amnesty International demanded immediate and unconditional release of detained activists and accused Israel of the release of international law. The UN also considered wider Israeli behavior in Gaza.
On Tuesday, the UN Inquiry Commission said that Israel’s forces had committed war crimes and crimes against humanity. “When killing civilians who are hiding in schools and religious places, Israeli security forces committed a crime against the humanity of extermination,” the Commission said.
The ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza
The assistance of the mission came in the middle of the deteriorating conditions in Gaza, where, according to Hamas-Run Health, more than 54,900 people were killed, mostly civilians. The UN warned of immediate famine and says that nearly 90% of the population is moved.
Israel claims that the blockade, which is introduced from Hamas, is necessary in 2007 to prevent weapons. Critics say it represents a collective punishment.
Symbolic mission
Madleen’s cruise was part of the symbolic effort of the Flotillla Flotillla coalition to break the blockade and highlight the humanitarian crisis.
Related soil convoy has crossed from Tunisia to Libya to achieve gazne.
This is not the first time the fleet faced an Israeli event. In 2010, the Israeli commando left 10 dead at Mavi Marmar and caused international outrage.
