The Tamil Nadu government has declared a holiday on October 21 for all government offices, schools, colleges and public sector undertakings across the state.
As Deepavali festival falls on October 20, the state government has taken the decision keeping in mind the convenience of students, teachers, government employees and employees of public sector institutions to travel to their hometowns and return after the festival. To compensate for the holiday, October 25 (Saturday) was declared a working day, an official press release said.
