
The recent rain, accompanied by the impact wind that attracted the district, caused an extensive loss of Gulbarga Electricity Supply Company (Gescom).
Houses of electricity were uprooted, transformers and cables damaged in many parts of the district.
According to the sources, 141 poles were uprooted, six transformers of the damaged and cables measuring approximately 2 km were depicted by waste.
Of the 141 poles are 93 in the partial division of Shorapur and balance, 48, in sub-division Yadgir.
Of the six transformers, there are three in both divisions. The total loss due to rain and wind was estimated at 7 ₹ Lakh.
Meanwhile, Gescom officers visited the affected places within their relevant divisions and started restoration work.
