
India head coach Gautam Gambhir attended the IPL 2026 match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals in New Delhi on Friday.Gambhir was seen sitting next to Indian selector RP Singh and they had a long discussion during the match. The Indian coach was also seen talking to BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla.

BCCI selectors attended matches during IPL 2026 to watch the debutants and Gambhir’s presence during the game attracted the attention of the fans.Gambhir led KKR to the 2024 IPL title before becoming India’s head coach later that year.In the match, Pathum Nissanka scored a fifty but the KKR spinners restricted Delhi Capitals to 142/8.The trio of Anukul Roy (2/31), Sunil Narine (1/17) and Varun Chakravarthy (0/28) controlled the middle overs and kept the score low.Pacers Kartik Tyagi (2/25), Vaibhav Arora (1/29) and Cameron Green (1/12) also chipped in with wickets.Had it not been for Ashutosh Sharma, who scored 39 off 28 balls with three fours and three sixes, Delhi Capitals could have ended up with a much lower total.KKR eventually chased down the target in just 14.2 overs to beat Delhi Capitals by eight wickets
