(Screengrabs) The quarterfinals of the Fide World Blitz team in London was disrupted by controversy after the best deployed WR chess lost the opening match with Germany and friends for delayed arrival. Star players Ian Nepomniactchi and Hikaru Nakamura achieved the venue with just seconds remaining on their lessons and soon resigned, later claimed that they were not informed about the start of the round. Their attraction was confirmed – and while other matches moved on, WR chess was allowed to play they definitely won.In the middle of chaos, Anish Giri confronted Nakamura and Nesmniachtchi on the camera: “If you won the first time, would you call on?”This note indicated the protest of the WR stems from the loss, not the principle. Giri Challge quickly turned into a tense exchange.“Since when you have become such a prominent brother -in -law? Neomniachtchi shot.While Nakamura did not answer immediately, as soon as Giri left, he turned to Nepo and asked, “Why does he care so much?”Nepomniachtchi replied dryly, “Because it’s anish. Whenever he starts talking, he’s not as smart as we think he is.”Later, Nonniachtchi admitted that the situation was “chaotic” and said that the appeal “could go in two way” and that “was not a good solution”.Despite the drama, WR chess was reflected back with a victory of 4.5–1.5 to play and win 4-2 in the opposite match. In the finals they continued the defeat of Kazchess and won their second blitz title.
