French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday shared a farewell video for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, expressing gratitude for his visit to France, describing it as “very fruitful”. He ended the message with the words: “France loves you”.

The video was released after Modi completed a multi-city tour that took him to Nice, Evian-Les-Bains and Paris. Macron called the Indian prime minister a “dear friend” and said he looked forward to welcoming him again in February.

Macron delivers a message in Hindi

In a video, Macron greeted Modi in Hindi and highlighted the strong ties between the two countries.

“Dear friend Narendra, I am very happy to welcome you to Nice, Evian and Paris, may the friendship of France and India live forever,” he said.

After speaking in Hindi, Macron smiled and added: “I hope it was right.

He continued: “Thank you for your visit. Thank you for our friendship. It was a very fruitful visit. France loves you. We look forward to seeing you again soon, in February. Jai Hind.”

Modi’s visit to France was about innovation, diplomacy and technology

Modi arrived in the French city of Nice on June 13, where he joined Macron to launch the Bharat Innovates program and also hold bilateral talks with the French leader.

The Prime Minister then traveled to Slovakia from June 14 to 16, marking the first visit of an Indian Prime Minister to the country.

He later attended the G7 summit at Evian-les-Bains where India participated as a guest country. The last leg of his tour took him to Paris, where he addressed members of the Indian community and spoke at the VivaTech 2026 forum.

Modi highlights the results of the visit

Reflecting on the trip, Modi said in a social media post, “This visit to France was far-reaching in terms of engagement and outcomes. It started in Nice for the Bharat Innovates program, followed by Evian for the G7 and then Paris where I addressed VivaTech 2026 and a large community program and also met CEOs.”

He also thanked Macron and the people of France for their hospitality.

“I am especially grateful to my friend President Macron, the government and the people of France for the warmth. India-France friendship will be even stronger in the times to come,” Modi said.

India-France partnership reaffirmed

The visit focused on innovation, global cooperation at the G7 summit, business engagement and outreach to the Indian diaspora. The two leaders used the occasion to highlight the growing partnership and close friendship between India and France.
