The ethanol production unit is spread over 28 acres in the SEZ with an investment of ₹260 crore. It is expected to create employment for 500 to 700 persons, said Mr. Prabhakar Reddy. He described the project as a major step towards industrial development in the region and noted that the long-cherished aspirations of the farmers who parted with their land to set up the IFFCO Kisan SEZ nearly three decades ago had finally been fulfilled.
Mr. Prabhakar Reddy said that he personally visited the IFFCO office in New Delhi and repeatedly expressed himself to IFFCO Chairman Dilip Singhani and called for the promotion of industries in Regadichelika SEZ. He congratulated the management of Gayatri Renewable Energy for investing ₹260 crore to set up an ethanol plant.
Ms. Prashanthi Reddy said that several industrialists are showing interest in setting up units in IFFCO Kisan SEZ. With the commissioning of the ethanol plant, a new phase of industrial growth has begun in the Kovur constituency, she added.
