The Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) (CPI (ML) New Democracy staged a protest against the Maoist encounter outside the Collectorate in Ongola on Saturday (November 22). It alleged that Maoist party leaders, who it claimed were working for tribal rights, were being brutally killed in the name of Operation Kagar, a military operation by Naxalite Indian security forces.
Chittipati Venkateswarlu, State Spokesperson of CPI (ML New Democracy), appealed to the public to intensify their fight against this operation.
Talking to the media, he said, “On one side, Maoists are being called for peace talks, asked to surrender and lead a normal life, on the other side, they are being tortured and killed. I strongly condemn the Home Minister’s announcement to free the country from Maoists and Naxalites by March 30, 2026.”
He said that “Hindu fanatical forces” are threatening to wipe out the urban Naxalites in the country after the Naxalites. “Those in power can physically kill people, but they cannot destroy their ideologies. As long as there is hunger, poverty, unemployment and misery in this country, they will raise questions,” he said. He demanded that the Center immediately call off Operation Kagar and bring the arrested Maoists to justice.
