With the 2026 winter schedule coming into effect later this month, several new routes – both international and domestic – will be launched at the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA).
A new European destination
Internationally, a new destination to Europe will operate from October 28 as Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) will launch direct flights between Bengaluru and Zurich five days a week.
This new non-stop flight service is expected to offer seamless travel between South India and Zurich with onward connections across Europe and North America via the Lufthansa Group network operated by SWISS.
Lufthansa already operates direct flights to Frankfurt and Munich from Bengaluru. This will give Bengaluru direct air connectivity to six European cities.
Direct flights
Apart from the above destinations, there are direct flights from Bengaluru to London, Paris and Amsterdam.
Qantas is also likely to resume direct flights between Bengaluru and Sydney later this month. The airline temporarily suspended direct flights between the two cities from August to October due to high fuel prices.
Air India Express, which has announced its winter schedule, will add a new route between Bengaluru and Kathmandu and the flights will be operated seven times a week. On the domestic front, the airline has added four new routes between Bengaluru and Coimbatore, Bengaluru and Goa (Mopa), Bengaluru and Jodhpur and Bengaluru and Madurai.
Regional airline FLY91 will introduce a new Tirupati-Bengaluru twice-weekly route that will operate on Wednesdays and Sundays.
From Mangaluru
From Mangaluru International Airport, Air India Express will introduce flight services on new routes. The airline will operate direct flights to Kuwait three times a week and to Ras Al Khaimah twice a week. It will also add three weekly flights from Hyderabad to Mangaluru.
