The District Police in Kodag, which has already issued a warning of violating legally permissible audio limits during the Ganesha festival, reserved five people on Sunday to use the sound system, which exceeds the prescribed decibels on Sunday.
The statement stated that sound systems with a central spokesman radiating high -frequency sound in the range of 110 to 120 decibels were used during the immersion of Ganapathi Idol 31.
Although local police officers and employees warn the organizers against the use of such audio systems with high decibel, pressure speakers were used, the statement said.
They point out that the 1986 Environmental Act (protection) and rules for noise pollution (regulation and control) of 2000 do not allow the use of an audio system exceeding the prescribed decibel limits;
The cases were booked against them pursuant to sections 285 and 292 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Section 36 and 109 Karnataka Police Act.
“The pressure medium speakers used in a submersible program and five vehicles were confiscated,” the statement said.
In his statement, the police superintendent K. Ramarajan called on the public not to use any type of sound system equipment that emits sound levels beyond the decibel limits prescribed by the 1986 and control and control rules.
Here it can be mentioned that the District Police in Kodag recently convened a meeting of members of the Ganesh Committee Committee in Madikeri and warned them of violating legally permissible noise limits. He ruled out any possibility to give the organizers any exception for exceeding the noise level of permissible limits.
The use of such a high decibel sound system was very dangerous for ears and overall health, he said.
