Five dead and two injured in car collision in Gujarat’s Morbi
Five people were killed and two others sustained serious injuries after the car they were traveling in rammed into a dump truck on the Morbi-Halvad highway in Gujarat’s Morbi district on Friday night (June 6, 2026), police said.
The accident took place near Charadwa village at around 9.30 pm when the dump truck was crossing the highway, police officer Halvad said. Seven people were traveling in the car. Three passengers died on the spot, while two others succumbed to their injuries during treatment at a hospital in Rajkot later that night. The other two injured have been admitted to Rajkot Hospital and are said to be in serious condition.
Police said a heavy excavator was deployed to extricate the victims from the mangled vehicle. The deceased have been identified as Paresh Dhadheya (24), who was taken from Ranchhorgadh village in Halvad taluka for medical treatment after a recent motorcycle accident, AAP taluka panchayat member Premji Dhadheya, Suresh Siroya (47), Viram Dhadheya (28) and Dhadhey Bharat (39). Further investigation is underway.
