Karnataka Rajya Raith Sangha (KRRS) urged the Commissioner’s representatives to order the probe into the alleged inconsistencies in the distribution of compensation published by the Cardataka (KIADB) Council (KIADB) for farmers who lost their land in Nanjgud Taluk.
The leader KRRS, who addressed the Hoskote Basavaraj press conference on Monday, said Kiadb won a total of 1,123.08 acres of soil in Immava, Adakanahalli and Tandavapura in Nanjangud Taluk.
The village of about 700 agricultural families from Immava, Hulimava, Immava Hundi and Adakanahalli, which grow hundreds of acres of land for several decades and submit applications for culture rights, have not been paid any compensation, he said.
As a result of their protest, Kiadb decided to pay for every farmer Ex-Gratia 4 lakh at his meeting and issued an amount of 18 GBP Crore Tahsildar by Nanjangud through the Commissioner’s deputy, KRRS said.
Although Ex-Gratia payment was paid, farmers did not receive this payment. Instead of paying them, Mr. Basavaraj claimed that the former Gratia was distributed to farmers from other taluks in the Chamarajanagar and Mysur districts, resulting in extensive corruption and irregularities.
KRRS therefore sought to investigate alleged discrepancies in the payment of compensation so that corrupt officials who indulge in negligible practices could be exposed.
The agricultural body also demanded the registration of criminal cases against those who participated in the fraudulent transaction, and the payment made to incompetent persons on the basis of false information will be restored.
Finally, compensation should be paid to eligible farmers according to the decision of the Board of Directors Kiadb. Employment should also be provided to at least one member of every family of farmers, Mr. Basavaraj said.
