The debt farmer committed suicide in the village of Sonna in Jeswargi Taluk in the district of Kalaburagagi on Thursday morning due to financial problems and crop failure.
The deceased was identified as Karappa Pujari Minajagi.
A team of police officers and forensic experts got to the place to gain the body of the farmer to explore.
The villagers demanded that the state government should provide compensation to the surviving family.
A case was registered at the Illogi Police Station.
