The family of Erin Piacenti, the Bank of America executive who was killed in a stabbing in New York’s Times Square, has shared an emotional statement days after her tragic death. The corporate vice president of America’s second largest lending bank, who returned to work after maternity leave, was brutally stabbed on Monday. It was the first day of work after maternity leave for the 32-year-old mother of a 5-month-old daughter when the shocking incident occurred.
Her family said in an emotional statement Wednesday that Piacenti is “preparing to build a life” with her husband and daughter, the New York Post reported. According to the statement, relatives of the deceased were “devastated” by her unprovoked stabbing death, saying: “Erin’s life was not defined by the circumstances of her death, but by the way she lived.”

A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and Fordham University School of Law, Piacenti “was deeply devoted to her family and friends, exceptionally bright and accomplished, and someone who brought warmth and energy to those around her,” the New York Post said in a statement.
She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, majoring in political science and singing in an a cappella group. She began her career as a buyer at Bloomingdale’s. Erin Piacenti joined the lender 18 months ago as vice president of the corporate selection and conflicts team.
The family said: “That life changed beyond comprehension in an instant,” adding: “Erin’s career achievements… speak to just a small part of who she was… To those who knew and loved her, Erin was a thoughtful daughter and sister, a loyal friend, a devoted partner and companion in all aspects of Frank’s life, and most recently, an incredibly loving mother to Madison.”
The accused, Pamela Cisneros, is a 49-year-old mother of three who has long struggled with mental illness and was dramatically shot and killed as she attempted to charge New York City Police (NYPD) officers, clutching a knife in each hand. A 68-year-old father from Rhode Island named Tak Kam was also seriously injured in the knife attack.
Erin Guiltinan – her maiden name – met her life partner Frank Piacenti at Fordham University Law School. The two decided to tie the knot on August 10, 2024 after climbing the corporate and legal ladders together.
A GoFundMe fundraiser was launched Wednesday, just two days after a new mom was killed on her first day back at work. Seeking $500,000 to support Piacenti’s baby girl, the fundraiser says, “Erin and Frank celebrated their second wedding anniversary this summer, just returned from a family trip after her death, and were preparing to build a life together with their new daughter.”
The family recently returned from a trip after spending weeks in Newport and Bar Harbor, Maine and Newport, RI. The couple bought a modern 4-bedroom, 5-bathroom home in leafy Chester, New Jersey, the site reported, citing property records.
