
28 -year -old Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, lost about 12.75 GBP Lakh in fraud with rental after the scammers were cheated as a National Guard staff (NSG). Police Hyderabad Cyber Crimes reserved a case.
The victim published an ad on Magicbricks 13th August and offered his apartment for rent. On the same day, he was contacted by a man who identified himself as Ashish Kumar Pahari, and claimed to be a Command of National Security (NSG) from West Bengal, which was transferred to Hyderabad. “The fraudster looked real, shared false identification documents and expressed interest in rent,” the officer of the wing of cyber crime said.
“Later, another man who introduced himself as Rajendra Shekawath, who was the leading officer, assured the victim that a preliminary rent of £ 80,000 would be paid.
She trust them that the victim had made several transactions in the total amount of 12 75 711 GBP before she realized she was cheated. Immediately announced fraud on the line of the National Line Cyber Crime (1930).
Police in the area of cyber crime warned the public that fraudsters are increasingly close to real estate owners on platforms such as Magicbricks, Olx and 99acres, acting as the Army or NSG staff. They send counterfeit identification cards and service documents and then use fictional safety procedures as an excuse to make siphons of money from money.
