Explosions and gunfire were reported on a main road in the southern Pakistani city of Karachi on Saturday, according to local media reports cited by Reuters.

Citing Pakistani broadcasters ARY News and Geo News, Reuters reported that the incident occurred on a key thoroughfare near several universities and the Pakistan Meteorological Department.

ARY News, according to a Reuters report, said the blast occurred near the offices of the Pakistan Rangers, the country’s paramilitary force.
