ED search is political vendetta, says MB Patil

“Agencies like the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) are being weaponized for political purposes. The recent search of the homes and offices of minister Satish Jarkiholi is a clear example of this trend,” minister MB Patil said on Friday.

“The ED raids on the Bengaluru and Gokaku residences of my cabinet colleague and close aide Satish Jarkiholi, as well as the homes of his close associates, including his son Rahul and daughter Priyanka, are an act of political vendetta by the Union government. I strongly condemn it,” the minister said.

“Union government’s attempts to subdue opposition leaders by arming agencies like ED, IT and CBI will never succeed. We refuse to bow to intimidation, conspiracies or abuse of power. Our fight to protect democracy will continue. We stand firmly behind Satish Jarkiholi. The voice of Congress cannot be silenced by such conspiracies,” he said in a statement.
