Agriculture department estimates crops damage in more than 2,440 acrees belonging to 1,43,300 farmers 2,463 villages in 28 districts during continuous rain this week according to preliminary assessment. Damage includes severe inundation, washing crops and germ and sand casting.
According to the preliminary assessment, the paddy crossed the maximum onslaught in more than 1,09,600 acres and cotton in nearly 60,100 acres. Among other crops, soy was affected in nearly 21,000 acres, corn about 16,000 acres, redgram and other pulses in 6,750 acres.
Other crops such as chili, oil lubricants, jar and garden crops were affected to the remaining extent. District farmers in Kameddy suffered poorly damage to crops in 77,400 acres, followed by 23,170 acres in medac, 21,300 acres in Adilabad, 18,400 acres in Nizamabad and 15,300 acres in Asifabad.
In the districts of Mancherial, Khammam, Nirmal, Suryapet, Siddipet and Sangareddy, the range of damage is estimated to be 5,900 acres to 9,600 acres. In the remaining 17 districts, the range of damage was up to 2,840 acres.
Urea arrival
Agriculture of Tummala Nagesware Rao said that about 21,325 tons of urea were expected Pandillapalli, Gajwel, Miryalgud and Nageliredypylly in the next few days.
In the first week of the first week, another 29,700 tons of urea would arrive from Gangavaram (Andhra Pradesh), Karaikal (Puduchherry) and Dhamra (Odisha). Adilabad, Jadcherly, Gadwal, Warangal, Miryalgud, Pandillapalli, Sanathnagar and Gajwel would be achieved and from there to the district, where the land is highly demanded or faced with a high shortage.
