Drainage projects worth ₹1.17 crore were officially launched at Vinjamur of Udayagiri constituency in SPSR Nellore district on Sunday.
Udayagiri MLA Kakarla Suresh, who was instrumental in getting the funds sanctioned by the Nellore Urban Development Authority (NUDA) and Mandal Praja Parishad (MPP), along with MPP president Vanipenta Hymavathi unveiled the plaque to launch the project.
As part of the project, a 1 km wide sewage network will be laid across the city. NUDA extended ₹ 87 lakhs while MPP sanctioned ₹ 30 lakhs for the massive project. The tar road approved from RWS office to Neredupalle road will be converted to cement concrete road.
The Vinjamur Mandal Parishad meeting held recently also agreed to sanction works worth ₹2.5 crore to be carried out across the mandal.
“After the NDA alliance came to power, we have taken up ₹3 crore cement road work and installed a dialysis center at the Community Health Center (CHC), while the Anna canteen is ready for inauguration,” said Mr. Suresh.
The MLA also proposed to lay a central median (split) on the road from the bus station to the center of the Bungalow with central lighting.
