Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan at a public meeting at Peravali in East Godavari district on Saturday.
Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan said the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s “zero tolerance approach to criminals” towards criminals is needed at this time to rein in those menacing contractors and bureaucrats.
Mr. Pawan Kalyan was speaking at the ‘bhoomi puja’ of ‘Amarajeevi Jaladhara’ water network project at Peravali in East Godavari district on Saturday.
The deputy chief minister was reacting to YSRCP president and former chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s warning that those collaborating with the state government in running government medical colleges under the PPP model would be sent to jail soon after the party comes to power in the next elections.
Mr. Pawan Kalyan said, “Barely 48 hours is enough for the police department to trace the roots of any group involved in threatening government stakeholders. Leftist extremist groups are on the verge of decimation because the government has decided to confront them.”
“I made it clear at a recent collectors conference that rioting should be dealt with with an iron fist and that we can no longer tolerate any group overstepping their bounds on social media in exercising their right to speak,” he said.
On assigning a caste to every celebrity, Mr. Pawan Kalyan said, “We should not limit the contributions and sacrifices made by personalities like ‘Amarajeevi’ Potti Sriramulu, Dr. BR Ambedkar and Mahatma Gandhi to their respective castes.”
