Delhi Rains: Indira Gandhi Airport issues passenger advisory as India Meteorological Department predicts more showers | Today’s news

The Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) in New Delhi has issued a travel advisory for passengers due to rains in the capital and adjoining areas. According to a travel advisory issued by the IGI on Wednesday morning, flight operations at the Delhi airport are currently normal.

“Our ground teams are working diligently with all parties involved to ensure your journey remains smooth,” the advisory said.

The airport also urged passengers to contact their respective airlines for the latest flight information.

However, it noted that the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted adverse weather conditions in Delhi.

IMD weather forecast for Delhi

According to the IMD, Delhi is expected to receive more rain accompanied by strong surface winds in the next few days.

On Wednesday, the IMD has forecast generally cloudy skies with light rain accompanied by thundershowers in Delhi.

The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to settle around 32 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius, the IMD noted.

Rain brings down temperature in Delhi

Delhi has been experiencing widespread rains for the past few days, bringing some relief from the hot and humid temperatures.

According to the IMD, daytime temperatures across the city remained significantly below normal in the last 24 hours on Tuesday.

Safdarjung recorded a maximum temperature of 31.2 degrees Celsius, 3.7 degrees below normal; Palam 30.7 degrees Celsius, 4.2 degrees below normal; Lodhi Road 31.1 degrees Celsius, 2.9 degrees below normal; Crest 30.9 degrees Celsius, 3.1 degrees below normal; and Ayanagar 29.4 degrees Celsius, 5.4 degrees below normal.

Even the minimum temperature remained below normal at most stations. Safdarjung recorded 25.6 degrees Celsius, 1.7 degrees below normal; Palam 23.6 degrees Celsius, 3.3 degrees below normal; Lodhi Road 25 degrees Celsius, 1 degree below normal; Crest 22.4 degrees Celsius, 3.9 degrees below normal; and Ayanagar 25.8 degrees Celsius, 0.6 degrees below normal.
