The delegation led by Kannada veteran actor Srinath met with Minister of Higher Education MC Sudhakar on Thursday and asked him to move the government television and film institute (GTFI) from Hesaraghatt to the city center.
The delegation also reported the Minister of the Minister of SJ Polytechnic, which was the first in a country to establish a film and television departments, as well as the Minister to upgrade film and television courses in SJ Polytechnic.
Mr. Sudhakar, who responded positively to the request, assured them that they would decide to move the Institute from Hesaraghatty after discussion with the main Minister Siddaramaiaha. “Soon I will visit the Institute together with officials and verify what can be done. I will discuss with the main minister,” said Mr. Sudhakar.
“I am aware of the demand for courses such as cinematography and sound engineering. We will take over the necessary initiative to introduce advanced technical courses,” the Minister said.
