Minister of the Interior G. Parameshware, who came under fire over his commentary on the case of sexual assault in Bengalur, expressed regret for his statement.
Parameshware responded to media questions about a woman who was annoyed by an unidentified man in BTM, and at the same time said he ordered the city police to strengthen the rhythm system, also said that such incidents occur in a large city like Begalur, and attracts from many, including BJP opposition.
Parameshware issued clarification on Tuesday and stated that his statement was incorrectly interpreted and excluded from context. “Whenever I was a household minister, I have always preferred women’s safety. I also asked the police to strengthen the rhythm system. But if my statement hurt women, not the opposition, I regret,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Police of Suddagunepalya, who came from the Suo Mot, reportedly rounded the suspect. “However, the victim does not want to seek this case. Both women are unable to identify the suspect. Now we are now trying to obtain technical evidence to prove that he was indeed a culprit before arresting him,” the police officer said.
