The Taxi Association for Taxi (BTA) called on the Karnataka government to immediately adopt the instructions for the Ministry of Road Transport and motorway aggregators (Morth) 2025, warning that the delay in regulation threatens thousands of riders.
In an open letter submitted to key ministers across departments, including work, transport, IT/BT, industry, income and health, as well as opposition leader in the Assembly, BTA emphasized the legal viability of taxis by the Central Act and the urgent needs of the state level.
“The law already allows the state to regulate taxis by bike and other states have successfully done this. We do not ask for special treatment, just a fair framework so that we can legally work and support our families. Every delay threatens the living of riders,” BTA said.
The release also said that the letter outlined three main points: Morth’s instructions provide clear legal support for regulation, thousands of riders rely on bike taxis to earn a living, and benefit from the available mobility to the last mile.

Revised instructions issued by Morth 1. States have received a three -month window to accept these new instructions.
