The Gujarat High Court on Monday (June 9, 2025) received the threat of the bomb via e -mail, which after a thorough inspection of the premises proved to be fraud, the police said.
The e-mail, which was sent by an unidentified person around 11:45 in the morning to the official ID of the Gujarate High Court, said an explosion of an improvised explosive facility (IED) in the evening building of the court, which was in the evening, authorized by the Police Commissioner, Zone-1, Safin Hasan.
“The sender warned that in the evening buildings there would be an IED explosion in one of the High Court buildings. After learning about the threat, the local police, along with six teams of bomb detection and liquidation, reached the place and started an anti-Sabotage operation,” Hasan told reporters.
“As part of the operation, the police carried out a thorough control of premises located on the Sarkhej-Gandhi motorway in Ahmedabad, including all court buildings, chambers and parked and coming cars,” he said.
There was nothing suspicious on the area, the official said. As a preventive measure, the chief judge of the High Court canceled the second court meeting on Monday (9 June 2025), DCP added.
