The Telangana High Court has dismissed a plea filed by a youth seeking to direct the Indian Institute of Management (IIM)-Mumbai to select him for a face-to-face interview for admission to its two-year Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme.
Justice Nagesh Bheemapaka of the HC, delivering the verdict in a plea filed by Satya Sai, which secured an overall percentile of 99.82 in CAT-2025, said the petitioner was trying to convert the competitive selection process into a matter of law based on overall percentile while ignoring the mandatory requirement of partial cut-off. The judge noted that the fixation of cut-off values is the prerogative of the academic authorities.
