In order to promote Indian cuisine, the Ministry of Tourism of the Union is for the first time organized a culinary competition. The big final of the competition will take place in the capital of the national city in January next year.
The National Young Chef Competition (NYCC) extends for six months and travels across the country through the zonal wheels. The competition is exclusively for hospitality students in the final year from the government, private, independent institutions and university departments specializing in hospitality and hotel management.
Two zonal wheels
His first zonal round (northern zone) took place in Chandigarh. The reflector then moved to Calcuta, where 11 September competed 11 institutes in a live demonstration innovation, which was rooted in Indian traditions.
The competition is organized by the Ministry of Tourism together with the Chamber and Industrial Chamber of PhD (PhDCCI), the Indian Federation of Culinary Associations (IFCA) and the Council for Tourism and Hospital Skills (THSC). The aim is to promote Indian culinary traditions, said the head of the Ministry of Tourism.
In Calcutta there was a competition in the technology of the Institute for Hotel Management and applied nutrition with enthusiastic participation of leading hospitality institutions throughout the eastern area.
Each participant prepared a three -course Indian food including starter, main course and dessert for two and a half hours. The competition called on the participants to interpret traditional flavors using modern culinary practices, in front of an important jury, mentors and an eager audience.
After an intense competition, IHM Kolkata and IHM Bhubaneswar appeared victorious and will represent the eastern zone at the big final. The University of ICFAI, Sikkim, was declared a runner.
NYCC is designed to create a concentrated platform on Indian cuisine and emphasize its depth, diversity and technology, and at the same time connect an ambitious chef with an industry for internships and career opportunities, the official said.
