The Common University Entrance Test for Postgraduate Courses (CUET-PG) application process for the academic year 2026-27 began on December 14, Central University of Karnataka (CUK) Vice-Chancellor Battu Satyanarayana said.
At the press conference here, prof. Satyanarayana said the examination will be conducted in computer-based test mode by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Online applications will be accepted until January 14, 2026 (until 23:50). Candidates can apply through NTA website – ; and details are also available on the university website www.cuk.ac.in
The last date for paying the exam fee is January 14. Applicants will be able to correct their applications on the website from January 18 to January 20. The exam centers will be published later after which they can download the admit cards from the NTA website. Exams will be held in March 2026.
Prof. Satyanarayana said that CUET-PG will be conducted for central universities and other participating universities across the country. In addition to the existing 30 postgraduate programs, ČUK introduced five new courses this academic year — MA in Library and Information Science; M.Sc. in botany, zoology and statistics and data analysis; and M.Tech in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
The intake capacity for most programs is 30 seats, while the MBA has 60 seats and the M.Ed. and B.Ed. each has 50 seats. For M.Tech programmes, 50% seats will be filled through CUET-PG and remaining 50% through GATE.
Prof. Satyanarayana said that students who are currently in their sixth semester of undergraduate courses and those who are appearing for their fifth semester exams can also apply. In reply to a query, he said that of the total number of seats in each postgraduate program, three seats are reserved for students from the Kalyana region of Karnataka and three for candidates belonging to Economically Weaker Sections (EWS).
CUET-PG exams will be conducted in 292 centres, including 16 outside the country. In Karnataka, the exams will be held in 15 cities, including Kalaburagi and Ballari in the Kalyana region of Karnataka, he added.
