“While the nation stands against terrorism, we are witnessing a dangerous trend where certain channels communicate this matter, spread unverified demands and promote war hysteria without any official confirmation of the government or armed forces,” Raja wrote.
Such coverage, he said, represents a direct threat to national cohesion. “Warm and targeting communities disrupt trust, create fear between citizens and play in the hands of those who seek to destabilize the country. Public anxiety is ignited, not solved,” said Raja. He also criticized that public operators also use a similar “irresponsible tone” and does not fulfill the basic duty to inform people with “accuracy and dignity”.
At the same time, Mr. Raja said that news portals like thewire.in were blocked. “CPI consistently supported the unified and determined attitude against terrorism – led by constitutional values, democratic principles and secularism. However, we refuse attempts to transform the tragedy of Pahalgam into a spectacle of hatred and division,” he said.
