Couple found dead at home in Mokila, police suspect financial distress

A young couple was found dead at their residence in Janwada village under Mokila police station limits on Sunday (June 28, 2026).

The deceased have been identified as Bala Sai (32) and his wife Padma (25). The couple got married for love 18 months ago after convincing their families and are parents to a five-month-old boy.

According to police, family members discovered the pair hanging inside their residence on Sunday and immediately alerted authorities. The Mokila police reached the spot, conducted a preliminary investigation and shifted the bodies for post-mortem.

Police said the exact cause of death has not yet been determined. However, preliminary investigations indicate that the couple was facing financial difficulties and were reportedly struggling over them, which led them to take the drastic step.

A case has been registered and further investigations are underway to ascertain the exact circumstances that led to their deaths.
