The alertness and anti -corruption office (VACB), Ernakulam Unit, claimed that it was uncovered by the alleged company in Thane, Maharashtra, in connection with the case of corruption in Kerala, in which three persons were arrested on the basis of an attempt to pay £ 2 from the business shop (ED).
The case turned dramatic after it turned out that VACB was charged with the ED Kochi unit as the key was charged. Vacb has so far arrested Wilson Varghese (36) from Thammanam, Mukesh Kumar, 55 years, Rajasthan and Ranjith Warrier, authorized accountant based in Kochi. VACB suspects that all three served as intermediaries for collecting paydays from people facing a potential investigation by a coercive agency.
Shekhar Kumar, assistant director of the Kochi unit in ED, is under the Vacb scanner.
VACB sources said they verified whether such companies were involved in the case.
By the way, Wilson, during the interrogation, said Vacb said that the third accused Mukesh gave him a bank account in Thane, to which the entrepreneur transferred 50,000 GBP.
The case was registered for a complaint by an entrepreneur based in Kollam, which operates the company for export and import. According to VACB, the entrepreneur was convened into the Kochi unit in ED in 2024 because his company’s turnover was very high and that the accounts were created to mask money washing. Shortly thereafter, the second accused Wilson contacted the entrepreneur to solve his problems with ED by paying 2 Crore to the first accused, he said.
Wilson asked the entrepreneur for 2 Lakh at Liquid Cash to personally pass on the first accused on May 15, 2025. Then the entrepreneur filed a complaint against the VACB. The enforcement agency registered the case after preliminary verification and set up a trap for Wilson when he turned to collect marked monetary notes worth 2 Lakh from the entrepreneur on May 16. During his interrogation, Wilson claimed that he was merely an intermediary and appointed the third accused, Mukesh, and said he came to get money for his instance.
