Civic services such as business licenses, birth and death certificates and the approval of the building plan previously provided by Bruhat Bengalur Mahanagar Palike (BBMP) will now be provided newly created corporations.
E-service, including BBMP applications, such as Gundi Gamana, E-Aasthi and online complaint portal, will remain centralized for now and will be managed at the new BENGALUR (GBA) office, said M. Maleshwar Rao, Chief Commissioner, GBA.
“To manage complaints and provide electronic services, we give every corporate hyperlinks access to complaints about their jurisdiction, while IT related aspects will continue to be managed centrally,” Rao explained.
This means that citizens can continue to register complaints and raise problems through the same electronic services that BBMP offers. The molding will be sorted on the basis of jurisdiction and handed over to the relevant corporations where the responsible officials will be responsible for their solution. In the future, if a company plans to introduce new technological systems to solve these problems, these services will be managed at the corporation level.
Personal services
For services that require personal visits, citizens can continue to approach the same department and zones as before. However, for some of the works that previously required a visit to the BBMP headquarters, citizens will have to visit the headquarters for the next few days until file transfers are completed. Later they can rely on the company’s main offices.
“We ensure a smooth transition that has in mind public comfort. Although there may be less inconvenience during this process, it will be quickly resolved to minimize disturbance,” Mr. Rao assured.
GBA also launched an interactive map service that helps citizens to monitor the boundaries of the department and identify their relevant corporations. Until the new boundaries of the department are completed, the existing ones will continue to be used for administrative purposes.
The interactive map is available on the BBMP website and the more user -friendly version will soon work on the Disklanka.
Waste management, potholes
Newly created corporations have already dealt with repairs of potholes and solve problems related to waste management. Incidents such as trees and broken branches are also processed at the level of corporation.
According to Mr. Ra, existing contracts and agreements on pruning branches and other security measures remain active. Suppliers dealing with the civic authority have continued their work and will gradually be full supervision to corporations.
Previously, Bengaluru Limited Limited (BSWML) supervised waste collection, while zonal offices managed areas with persistent problems. In recent ranking, however, BBMP ordered commissioners to take responsibility for waste collection. Within the new corporation system, this arrangement will continue, with BSWML and commissioners of all five corporations are responsible for ensuring proper waste collection and waste management. The main engineers will watch black spots.
Mr. Rao repeated that the crossing was going smoothly and that public comfort remains a priority. Citizens who are not sure about changes can turn to the help line for clarification.
