A 19-year-old youth, identified as Ayan Ahmed Tanvir Ahmed, a resident of Paratwada in Maharashtra’s Amravati district, allegedly circulated objectionable photographs and 380 obscene videos online. According to several reports, he was accused of sexually assaulting 180 minors.
Following a complaint by a BJP MP, Ahmed was jailed on April 11 and arrested and produced before a court on April 14, according to NDTV.
There was a bulldozing operation where a JCB was deployed outside the residence of the accused and demolished illegal parts of his single-storey house, the report said. According to videos from the scene, a JCB was used to demolish an iron staircase built in front of the house to access the first floor. The operation was carried out by a team of Achalpur Municipal Council to remove the illegal construction at the residence of the accused.

BJP MLA Pravin Tayade was present at the venue to watch the administration’s action. Municipal authorities have reportedly already served Ayan’s family with a notice of the crackdown. Meanwhile, a heavy police presence has been deployed outside the premises.
The allegation is to be investigated by the SIT
After being tipped off, Amravati Rural Police arrested Ayan for his alleged activities in Paratwada area. He was sent to a police cell until April 21.

According to the Paratwada police, the accused allegedly lured the victims, captured obscene photos and videos without their consent and shared them on social media to defame them.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) set up by Amravati (Rural) Superintendent of Police Vishal Anand will investigate the allegations. The team consists of 11 officers and 36 constables and is headed by the Deputy Superintendent of Police, according to PTI.
Rajya Sabha MP Anil Bonde, a native of Amravati, had earlier called for an SIT probe.

The police have seized the accused’s mobile phone and are investigating the evidence. A case has been registered under Section 294 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Act, along with Sections 8 and 12 of the POCSO Act and relevant provisions of the IT Act, officials said.
None of the victims have yet contacted the police. Authorities have urged victims and their families to come forward to help with the investigation and to ensure their identities remain confidential.
AIMIM distances itself from any association with the accused
He was allegedly associated with AIMIM in the past. The content earlier posted on his social media showed him interacting with Amravati MIM President Haji Irfan Khan and filming reels during a party meeting. Several of these posts were removed after the case came to light.
AIMIM has categorically denied any association with it, with district president Sayyed Mujeeb stating that Ayan is not associated with the party in any way.
“During the Achalpur Gram Panchayat elections, he was given the responsibility of managing the party’s social media accounts. However, as he was not performing his duties effectively, we issued a formal letter and expelled him from the party immediately after the elections. The accused is neither a party worker nor an official of AIMIM,” Mujeeba was quoted as saying by NDTV.
Meanwhile, the case has sparked widespread public outrage, particularly in Paratwada and Achalpur, where demonstrations were held demanding strict action, as reported by India Today.
Hindu groups called for a bandh in the area after a meeting at a local temple, leading to increased security.
The police have deployed additional personnel and are maintaining high alert to prevent any unexpected incidents.
