Committee to study the implementation of the 62-year retirement age in energy companies

The Andhra Pradesh Power Coordination Committee (APPCC) has formed a six-member committee to look into the implementation of the government order to increase the retirement age of public sector employees from 60 to 62 years in power companies.

A decision to this effect was taken at the APPCC meeting held on Wednesday through video conferencing chaired by Special Principal Secretary (Energy) K. Vijayanand.

The committee comprises G. Surya Sai Praveenchand, Joint Managing Director, AP Transco; P. Pulla Reddy, MD of AP Genco and CMD, CPDCL; DISCOM CMDs Siva Shankar Lotheti and Prithvi Tej Immadi and Legal Advisor Siva Rao.

They have been mandated to prepare a comprehensive study that will cover the financial impact, working conditions of employees, especially those working in the field, and other administrative matters and submit a report within 15 days.
