CM Inaugurates Annual Convention ‘Snehagamam’

Chief Minister VD Satheesan emphasized that faith, love and tolerance are the qualities that make us human.

The third annual convention of the interfaith organization “Snehagamam”, organized by the Malankara Mar Thoma Syriac Church to commemorate the golden jubilee priesthood of Joseph Mar Barnabas Suffragan Metropolitan and Isaac Mar Philoxenos Episcopal, opened here on Friday.

Cardinal Baselios Cleemis, Major Archbishop of the Syro Malankara Catholic Church; Abdusamad Samadani, Member of Parliament; VP Suhaib Maulavi, Palayam Imam; Swami Satswarupananda Saraswati of Umbarnad Siddhashramam; and Fr. Bobby Jose Katikkad, writer and speaker were the chief dignitaries at the event which was moderated by writer Mothy Varkey. Legislative Assembly Speaker Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan was present.

The first two ‘Snehagamam’ meetings held earlier focused on the themes of ‘neighbourhood and reconciliation’ while the third convention focused on the theme of ‘peacemakers’. The objective of the assembly is to promote universal human values ​​found in Hindu, Islamic and Christian scriptures.
