Climate change is emerging as a major threat to public health in India, changing disease patterns, straining health systems and putting nearly 40% of districts at high risk of extreme weather events, according to a new report.
The report Under the Weather: India’s Climate-Health Intersections and Pathways to Resilience by Dasra, an organization of philanthropic funds, highlights that rising temperatures, erratic rainfall, floods and cyclones are no longer isolated events but part of a continuous cycle of disruptions affecting health, livelihoods and access to care across the country.
