A man from Kerala shared a shocking experience of Islamophobia in Gurgaon. He wrote at Reddit that this happened after Rapido reserved a car late at night near his company in sector 40.
When the driver arrived, the resident stopped him and began to question his identity. A driver who looked like a Muslim was asked why he was there. He was even asked to show his phone. The driver was treated with suspicion only for his appearance.

“Just like WTF? Poor said it was a ride, but this clown wouldn’t stop,” the man wrote, “I hit and told him, that’s my ride, I live here, who you will come and who does not?
The Reddit user explained the “Uncle” company that Rapido’s rides were monitored, so that such suspicions did not hear.
“Bro, this is Rapido, everything is watched. I’m afraid of curious stinging like you than the driver,” Kerala said.

Later he wrote that he could move elsewhere if his company shared such thinking.
“I am from keral and I have never seen this kind of shit before. People always say that Incring in India is growing and I thought it was perhaps exaggerated, no,” he wrote.
He called it a “disgusting” reality and added that he realized that many people still had to prove their existence every day.
“Imagine that you have to prove your damn existence every night to random foreigners just because your religion meets, this is the reality in which some people live. And it’s disgusting,” Reddit concluded.
The reaction of social media
Many other Reddit users agreed to OP and killed discrimination.
“Gurgaon is an absolute sh*thole place. Literally the worst place King in India I’ve ever lived.

“Many people from Delhi and other parts of northern India are also very futile and toxic,” he wrote.
“The houses for rent have been denied for several years in both Bangalore and Gurgaon, in luxury colonies. Remember that I am from College 1 in India, married and not religious. Finally, this and other discrimination led me to transition to the US,” he said.
Another user from Kerala wrote: “It’s the first time in northern India? It was shocking to me when a real estate broker asked for my religion (I think my name was not enough for him). He sensed my reaction, quickly added,” Don’t worry, it’s just because you’re not a Muslim. ” ”
