Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke on Tuesday (October 6, 2026) slammed the Maharashtra police for allegedly sending notices to CJP personnel. He said the workers were pressured to stay away from the protest scheduled to be held on October 10 at Jantar Mantar against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Some party workers have been served with notices in Rajasthan as well, he claimed.

The notices allegedly issued by the Chandrapur police are under Section 168 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (BNSS). According to copies of the notices seen by The Hindu, party workers were advised not to join the protest. Mr. Dipke showed two such notices issued by Mayur Malkhede of Ballarpur and Raj Jaykumar Badolo of Chandrapur.

“Why is the Maharashtra police behaving like the Delhi police? What does it have to do with a person going to Delhi from Chandrapur?” asked Mr. Dipke.

Heartbreaking: Dipke

He praised the state police and said that the Maharashtra police was the best force in the country and should learn from them. “But it is heartbreaking that the Chandrapur police served a notice to the CJP workers and asked them not to participate in the protest at Jantar Mantar. They also asked the CJP workers about the source of the funds they used to travel to Jantar Mantar. The police said the agitation would be ‘violent’. How does the police know so early that the agitation will be planned in advance?” he asked.

He further said, “Why is Devendra Fadnavis trying to be Yogi Adityanath 2.0? He should know about Maharashtra’s heritage. He should not disrespect and abuse the Maharashtra police for his political ambitions. Instead of harassing our workers, they should arrest me… They should arrest me and charge me under UAPA and NSA instead of harassment.” On a lighter note, he stated that he preferred Pune jail.

“One nation, one choice” is just a slogan. The real goal is ‘one nation, one political party’,” he said.

The CJP called for an agitation at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on October 10 to press for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over the SIR controversy. The party called for criminal prosecution of Mr. Kumar.
