CJP Protest News LIVE Updates: More than a month has passed since the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) launched a protest demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET ‘paper leak’ case. It is a requirement that still remains “non-negotiable”.

CJP spokesperson Saurav Das said late on Wednesday: “(Union minister) JP Nadda should be ashamed. People are sitting here for over 30 days… He is the one making politics… Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation is non-negotiable… Without that, the protest will continue. It will continue as long as it has to.”

Meanwhile, climate activist Sonam Wangchuk said he would end his indefinite hunger strike if the Center assured him that no force would be used against the protesting students and no FIRs or other punitive action would be taken against them, claiming that even though he had lost about 11 kg during the fast, he wanted to return to work.

Wangchuk, who joined the agitation on June 28 and has been on an indefinite hunger strike since then, is admitted to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram after being transferred there from Safdarjung Hospital on the orders of the Delhi High Court.

Tight security has been deployed at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, where the CJP continues its protest. A contingent of police has been deployed in the area to maintain law and order.

Meanwhile, a Delhi Police officer was injured in fresh violence at Connaught Place on Wednesday when some miscreants attacked the police with stones and bottles, officials said.

The CJP also claimed on Wednesday that internet services around Jantar Mantar, where her supporters staged a sit-in, had been shut down and questioned whether the government was preparing for another police crackdown against the agitation.

Bollywood star Salman Khan came out in support of the students and said that paper leakage is a very serious problem and he is glad that the students have come together for a better education system and their parents have supported them.
